Kathmandu: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast rain and snowfall in various parts of the country from tonight through Wednesday morning.

In a special weather bulletin issued today, the department stated that light to moderate rainfall is likely in many areas, with snowfall expected in the Himalayan regions.

The department has urged people in seven districts Gorkha, Manang, Mustang, Dolpa, Myagdi, Kaski, and Parbat and nearby areas to remain cautious. These areas are expected to experience light to moderate rain and snowfall, particularly in the high-altitude regions.

The department also mentioned that updated alerts remain in effect for Dolakha, Sindhupalchok, Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Lamjung, Humla, Jumla, Mugu, Kalikot, Dailekh, Jajarkot, Salyan, Rukum East, Rukum West, Baglung, Surkhet, Banke, and Bardiya districts, where similar weather conditions may occur.

According to the department, light to moderate rain and snowfall are likely in some areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali Provinces, as well as in the hilly and Himalayan regions of other provinces. One or two high mountain areas in Gandaki Province may even experience heavy snowfall.

The department has advised travelers and residents in the affected regions to take necessary precautions against possible disruptions due to rain and snow.
