Kathmandu, October 5: Continuous rainfall on Friday and Saturday has triggered landslides and floods across the country, resulting in the deaths of at least 49 people, according to the latest report from Nepal Police. The data was compiled up to 1:30 PM today.

The Koshi Province has been the hardest hit, with 37 deaths reported in Ilam district alone. Other casualties include 2 in Udaypur, 1 in Khotang, and 6 in Panchthar. Likewise, 3 people have lost their lives in Rautahat due to flooding.

Police have also reported that seven people remain missing-1 each in Ilam, Bara, and Kathmandu, and 4 in Rasuwa.

Authorities and rescue teams are continuing search and relief operations in affected areas, as heavy rainfall has caused severe damage to property and disrupted road networks across several districts.
